Artist Statement
I design and hand-create each piece of jewelry at my studio located in the hills of
San Diego County. Each piece starts with its own basic concept, then evolves
continually as tile materials show me the way to their final configuration.
I utilize time-proven metalsmithing and wire-shaping techniques derived from
formal college and private classes, mentors, fellow artists, and of course from my
own studio experience over the years. My basic materials are various gradations
of silver, alloys of gold, semi-precious stones, and occasional exotic beads.
Although my techniques are rather old-school, my studio is modern and
comfortable, equipped with finest-quality hand tools, rolling mill, drill press,
soldering/antiquing bench, and fine polishing and finishing equipment.
I love the process of design and hand fabrication. I believe each unique piece
demonstrates the vision and commitment I bring to my work.
