Christine Mackellar

Christine MacKellar is a British jeweler living and working in Brooklyn, known for her “urban organic” approach—drawing inspiration from nature and an urban sensibility. Fascinated by repetition in the natural world, she creates dimensional forms with a limited color palette, often fusing 24k, 22k, and 18k gold onto silver and adding textured surfaces with hammers, engraving tools, and rolling mills.

MacKellar earned a BA (Hons) in Jewelry Making and 3D Design from Hallam University, Sheffield, and trained further in New York under Deborah Aguado. Since opening her Brooklyn studio in 1980, she has become celebrated for her bangles and versatile pieces that blend simplicity with drama, designed to make women feel confident and comfortable.
