Fernanda Gaspar

Fernanda Gaspar is a contemporary artist and jeweler originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, now based in San Diego, California. She earned her BA in Business Administration with a Minor in Jewelry & Metalwork from San Diego State University. Her dedication to both craft and concept has been recognized through her appointment as the Pocosin Arts Metals Artist in Residence for 2024–2025.

Gaspar’s work bridges personal narrative and material exploration, creating objects that engage the body and the environment. Whether worn as jewelry or used to adorn space, each piece reflects specific moments, experiences, and emotions—functioning as a journal entry often accompanied by writing, photography, or video. Through meticulous attention to design and concept, her work unfolds a cohesive and intimate narrative for the viewer.

She maintains an active studio practice while teaching part-time at Grossmont College and Art Reach, and coordinating the Summer Metals J.A.M. program at Idyllwild Arts. Her work has been exhibited widely, including SNAG Scrumptious for NYJW and Equal Temperament at the Kentucky Museum, highlighting her distinctive voice in contemporary jewelry and metals practice.
